"I will carry everyone along", Ali Modu Sheriff says

The recently appointed acting National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, Ali Modu Sheriff has waved aside calls by his party members for his resignation.

Ali Modu Sheriff is the former governor of Borno state and was at a time alleged to be one of the major sponsors of the terrorist group, Boko Haram. His appointment was necessitated by a court order ordering the former Acting national chairman, Uche Secondus to step down and that the party appoint a Chairman in line with its zoning formula.

One of the most vocal critics of PDP’s new chairman is Chief Femi Fani Kayode and he has been joined by other factions within the PDP to demand Modu Sheriff’s resignation.

In a statement yesterday, Modu Sheriff seemed more concerned about building the part than the pressure mounting on him to step down. I will carry everybody along. I have come to form a partnership with party men and women. The wrangling that is going on is normal but we will overcome.i will contact everybody that matters in the party because we have the same goal which is rebuilding the party to its enviable height” he said in a statement.
