The shortest man in the world as recognized by Guinness book of world records, Chandra Bahadur Dangi has died at the age of 75.
Dang who hailed from Nepal was diagnosed with pneumonia and hospitalized in a United States hospital where he passed away on Friday, September 4, 2015.
The protracted sickness which he had been treating in Nepal got worse when he went traveled to the US for work.
Late Dangi who was 1 foot 9.5 inches tall and weighed 31 pounds, was declared the shortest human adult ever documented in history.
Last November, Dangi posed for some pictures with the world’s tallest man, Sultan Kosen from Turkey, during a photocall in London to mark the annual Guinness World Records Day.
In a statement on Guinness World Records said it was “deeply saddened” by the news of Dangi’s death.
The statement read: “GWR would like to express its sincere and heartfelt condolences to Mr. Dangi’s family in this difficult time.
“He will be remembered forever as an iconic and extraordinary record holder.”
